FREELANDER has appointed Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors as its authorised distributors in the United Arab Emirates, establishing its retail and after-sales representation ahead of the brand’s global launch in Abu Dhabi on 29 September 2026.
The announcement makes the UAE FREELANDER’s first international market. Al Tayer Motors will represent the new brand in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, while Premier Motors will cover Abu Dhabi.
For UAE buyers, the development is more than a launch-event announcement: it confirms which dealer groups will be responsible for vehicle sales, servicing, parts supply, warranty support and customer care once the brand begins operating locally.
A new distributor network before the first UAE model arrives
FREELANDER said the two distributor businesses will support its market entry through their existing UAE sales and service network. Together, Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors operate 32 sales and service facilities in the country.
The companies have also secured three flagship showroom locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as part of the launch plan. FREELANDER has not yet announced the opening dates of those sites, nor has it published UAE retail prices, reservation details, specification sheets or customer delivery dates.
FREELANDER 8 set for Abu Dhabi presentation
The first strategic vehicle identified for the international rollout is the FREELANDER 8. The company says an international version of the model will be presented at the Abu Dhabi launch.
Confirmed UAE-market technical specifications have not been released. That means local buyers should wait for the 29 September event and subsequent distributor communications before drawing conclusions about powertrains, battery capacity, range, off-road equipment, trims or pricing for the Emirates.

The appointment adds another incoming premium-oriented vehicle brand to a highly competitive UAE market, where customers increasingly expect a complete ownership proposition alongside the car itself. FREELANDER is a standalone brand co-created by Chery and Jaguar Land Rover. It uses the Freelander name under a model of collaboration that is separate from both Chery’s existing vehicle range and JLR’s modern luxury brand portfolio.
