Saudi electric-vehicle manufacturer Ceer has unveiled its first production-intent vehicle line, the Exobot, in sedan and SUV form. The September 21 announcement is a landmark moment for the Kingdom’s automotive ambitions: Ceer was established in 2022 as Saudi Arabia’s first domestic automotive original-equipment manufacturer.
The two Exobot models are the first in a planned range of seven vehicles due to be introduced over the next five years. Ceer says its wider portfolio will include compact and midsize vehicles with different powertrain options, although it has not yet published full technical specifications, prices, battery sizes, driving ranges or a customer delivery timetable for the newly revealed sedan and SUV.
A new Saudi automotive name reaches the vehicle stage
Ceer was launched by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Foxconn with the aim of building a national automotive business spanning vehicle design, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, sales and after-sales support. The Exobot reveal moves the project from factory construction and supplier partnerships to publicly presented vehicles.
According to the announcement, the sedan and SUV were designed and engineered locally and take design inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s landscape and culture. Both will be made at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex in the King Salman Automotive Cluster at King Abdullah Economic City.

For motorists, the announcement does not yet mean that Exobot vehicles can be ordered or that final Saudi-market pricing has been set. Those details, along with equipment grades, charging performance, range figures, warranty coverage and the retail and service network, will be especially important before buyers can compare the cars directly with imported EVs and hybrid models.
Still, the unveiling is significant because it introduces a Saudi-developed sedan and SUV programme in two of the region’s most important vehicle categories. If Ceer delivers the promised local manufacturing and ownership support, it could give Saudi buyers another option as the country expands its EV ecosystem.
Why the announcement matters beyond the showroom
The bigger story is industrial. Ceer plans to manufacture its vehicles in Saudi Arabia and build a local supplier base around the King Abdullah Economic City facility. The company projects that, by 2034, it will contribute more than SAR 30 billion to Saudi GDP and improve the trade balance by around SAR 80 billion. These are company and project projections rather than current results.
Ceer also says it expects to create direct and indirect employment as its manufacturing operation develops. The Exobot programme therefore forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 effort to increase advanced manufacturing, local content and non-oil industrial activity.
